ASU Student Transportation

Arizona State University is one of the largest schools in the nation and with that comes a need to be able to fit all the students and majors. Arizona State has four different campuses: Tempe Campus, Downtown Campus, West Valley Campus, and Polytechnic Campus. Different Majors are assigned to each campus with his or her major classes being located there. Due to this students who live on a different campus who do not have a vehicle to go to his or her classes need to be able to make it there. Arizona State provides two solutions to this issue. The Charter Shuttle and the Valley Metro. The Charter Shuttle is free for ASU students only and has multiples shuttles driving to the different campuses for students to hop on to go to classes or other events at another campus. The shuttle runs from 6am to 9pm every weekday coming every fifteen minutes and 8am to 8pm every weekend coming every two hours. The shuttle is very convenient but can be a pain for students in the West Valley or Polytechnic Campuses due to each being about an hour shuttle ride. Having to shuttle an hour to your classes can create extra stress exhaustion for students constantly traveling back and forth. Students that I have talked have said that the travel can be a pain and not fun but they like to do homework or sleep on it to waste time. The second but not as convenient travel method is the Valley Metro that runs through Arizona. Valley Metro is for all the public and cost 2$ a day. The Valley Metro is constantly going and a way that ASU students are able to travel back home after 9pm when the shuttle is no longer in service. However the Valley Metro can be unsafe at times and many do not recommend younger students to use it. The Charter Shuttle and Valley Metro are an example and great way to for students to travel to their classes, sporting events, or home.
